At a conference held today (Wednesday) in Nahariya by the Beaches Division of the Ministry of Interior, Magen David Adom presented an innovative development in its control and monitoring systems. The purpose of the development is to shorten the reaction times for the arrival of first aid teams to the beaches. This development was created through cooperation between MDA and the Beaches Division of the Ministry of Interior.
Improving and Streamlining Emergency Response
The aim of this new development is to improve and streamline the operation of emergency events by mapping and displaying all designated beaches and their clinics. The system also shows the personal phone numbers of the beach managers.
In the event of an emergency, MDA representatives will be able to communicate with the beach manager to obtain the necessary information, thereby outlining the quickest route for first aid teams to reach the incident location.

In MDA’s training department, they reported that this development joins a series of measures the organization has taken to improve life-saving operations on the beaches. Over the years, MDA has trained beach managers as lifesavers, conducted training for drowning prevention, and mapped out the locations of defibrillators at lifeguard stations.

Safety and Accessibility to Save Lives
“Beaches in Israel serve millions of citizens and visitors each year. We must ensure they are safe, accessible, and managed to the highest standards,” stated Ronen Peretz, Director-General of the Ministry of Interior.
MDA Director-General Eli Bean expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Interior for the cooperation. “This step is another measure to ensure the safety of the people of Israel. It will allow us to respond more quickly to incidents and thus save lives.”
