Powered by Israeli-developed technology, the innovative self-driving taxis are expected to directly compete with Tesla’s ‘Cybercab’ fleet, which is set to begin operations in Austin as early as June 2025.

Stock Surges Following Announcement
Following the news of the partnership, Mobileye’s stock surged by 15%, pushing its market valuation past $15 billion — a significant rebound after a prolonged period of declining stock prices.

A Bold Move Amidst Industry Challenges
Mobileye was previously valued at over $30 billion, but its market cap plummeted below $10 billion due to declining sales of its active safety systems and missed revenue targets over the past two years. With this new venture, Mobileye aims to solidify its position in the autonomous vehicle sector and restore investor confidence. However, the initiative faces regulatory and strategic hurdles before it can be widely implemented.
