In recent months, Israeli organizations have been subjected to an average of approximately 2,100 cyberattacks per week. This marks a 70% increase compared to the previous year, according to data published by Israeli cybersecurity giant Check Point.

The report highlights a significant rise in cyberattacks on Israeli organizations. However, it also indicates that these organizations are strengthening their defenses by implementing advanced measures to counter evolving threats.

Global Challenges and Israel’s Readiness
The report examined the situation in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region, where the weekly average of cyberattacks stood at 1,679—lower than the number recorded in Israel.

The most targeted sectors in Israel are education, communications, and transportation. However, these sectors are also leading in improving their preparedness and protecting their systems.

An Opportunity to Strengthen Security Systems
Cyber warfare is becoming increasingly sophisticated, with a growing reliance on artificial intelligence-based tools and disinformation. In Israel, many organizations are investing more in security infrastructure and integrating smart systems that help detect threats in real time.

Despite the challenges, cybersecurity experts emphasize that the current reality presents an opportunity. Israeli organizations are not merely reacting to attacks but  adopting proactive approaches, including cloud security solutions and AI-driven threat detection and monitoring systems.

A Long-Term Trend of Improvement
Lotem Finkelstein, Director of Threat Intelligence at Check Point, stated: “We are witnessing progress in adopting tools that can minimize  surfaces open to attack and keep attackers at a significant disadvantage.”

According to him, Israel’s technology sector is also leading in developing cybersecurity solutions that serve organizations worldwide. At the same time, there is continuous investment in data protection, cloud-based systems, and artificial intelligence—along with the recognition that “attacks are only becoming more sophisticated.”
