GAZA STRIP — In a major overnight operation carried out between Monday and Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), in coordination with the Shin Bet security service, launched a precision strike against Hamas engineering infrastructure, destroying approximately 40 heavy-duty vehicles used to carry out and support terror activity.
The IDF described the strike as “accurate and targeted”, aimed specifically at key logistical equipment used by Hamas during the October 7 massacre and in subsequent battles.
Machines Built for Terror
The targeted engineering equipment included bulldozers, excavators, and transport vehicles used to breach border fences, excavate terror tunnels, plant improvised explosive devices (IEDs), clear debris to uncover hidden weapons, and transport militants and gear across the border.

During the October 7 attack, these vehicles were used to punch holes in Israel’s security fence, deploy makeshift bridges, and escort Hamas militants on motorcycles and pickup trucks into Israeli territory.

IDF: Operational Capability Severely Degraded
Israeli military officials emphasized that the destruction of this fleet of engineering tools significantly degrades Hamas’s ability to carry out future large-scale terror operations.
“These machines were integral to the enemy’s operational capabilities,” the IDF said in a statement. “Their elimination is a critical step toward preventing future attacks and protecting Israeli civilians.”
The statement also noted that the IDF and Shin Bet would continue to carry out targeted strikes to dismantle Hamas’s infrastructure and eliminate any emerging threats from the Gaza Strip.
