On Tuesday, students from the Perlina–Chabad Jewish School in Kyiv sent a message of solidarity to students at “Gesherim,” a special education school in Bnei Brak that was struck by an Iranian missile. “We went through it too — and we returned to learn and smile,” the girls wrote.

Iranian Drones in Kyiv, But We Won’t Surrender to Darkness
Gesherim, part of the Ohel Sarah network, was hit by an Iranian missile in a recent attack. A few months earlier, the Perlina school in Kyiv endured a similar experience when a Russian-launched Iranian drone struck their campus.

In both cases, the impact occurred at night when the buildings were empty. “We too asked ourselves, what now? How do we move forward?” said the Kyiv students. “But we got up together, repaired the damage, and returned to our studies with a smile.”

A Letter of Shared Strength
“As those who have gone through the same experience, it was important for us to show our support and solidarity with our brothers and sisters at the Gesherim school,” said Rabbi Yonatan Markowitz, Chief Rabbi of Kyiv.

“Iran is a terror state spreading darkness and evil around the world. Many of the drones hitting Kyiv are Iranian-made. Despite repeated attacks, we will not give in — and we will continue to spread the light that, with God’s help, will drive out the darkness.”

“Sending a Hug of Faith, Hope, and Love”
“We want to tell you that, with God’s help, you too will get through this,” the Perlina–Chabad girls wrote. “You’ll rise, return to drawing, singing, hugging your friends and being with your teachers. You’ll have a new home — even better than the one before. We are with you, praying for you from Kyiv and sending you a big hug of faith, hope, and love. Stay strong,” they concluded.

Ohel Sarah Director Mrs. Malka Weinberg said the girls were deeply moved by the letter, the video, and the accompanying drawings. “This mutual solidarity touched us deeply. Their experience strengthened us and reminded us that, with God’s help, we too will return to our school, rebuild it, and reopen it as an even better and more beautiful space. We will not let terror defeat us.”

The Ohel Sarah network is currently preparing to resume classes at a temporary location provided by another school in the city.
