A man was murdered, and another was wounded in a terrorist attack that occurred this morning (Monday) near Yokneam. The incident began at 09:44 when reports were received about an attack near the Tishbi Junction on Route 66. It was initially reported that a 70-year-old man was critically injured and unconscious, while another man, approximately 20 years old, was in moderate condition. After medical examinations, MDA medics and paramedics pronounced the unfortunate death of the elderly man, later identified as 85 year old Moshe Horn for Kibbutz HaZorea.
Security officials stated that the terrorist who carried out the attack was an Israeli citizen from the village of Zalafa near Haifa. Police Commissioner Dani Levy arrived at the scene and stated: “Thanks to the Border Police force, the killing spree was stopped—the terrorist arrived searching for Jews, snatched a weapon from a soldier, and continued his attack.”

Eyewitness Accounts from the Attack Scene
Civilians at the scene recounted that the terrorist was driving on the road near Tishbi Junction when he spotted a young man, approximately 20 years old, at a bus stop and deliberately rammed him with his vehicle. The terrorist then exited the car and stabbed the young man, with his most severe injuries resulting from the stabbings.
Following this, the terrorist used a long-barreled weapon and opened fire on a vehicle traveling in the opposite lane. The driver was unharmed, but his father sitting beside him, was murdered by the gunfire.
MDA paramedic and head of the Yokneam station, Ofer Vinik, described the scene: “It was a severe incident. We arrived at the location and saw a 70-year-old man and a young man, about 20 years old, near the bus stop, both suffering from penetrating injuries. We conducted medical examinations on the 70-year-old man—he had no pulse and was not breathing, and unfortunately, we had to pronounce him dead at the scene.”
Additional MDA teams provided medical treatment to the 20-year-old, who was conscious, and urgently evacuated him in an MDA intensive care ambulance to the hospital in serious and unstable condition.
