Air raid sirens were heard across Israel at 6:36 AM this morning (Friday) in multiple regions: Jerusalem, Dan, Sharon, the coastal plain (Shfela), Yarkon, Lachish, the Judean lowlands, Samaria, and central Israel.

Shortly afterward, the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit confirmed that a single missile launched from Yemen had been successfully intercepted.

“Alerts were activated in accordance with policy,” the statement read.

No Injuries Reported
Magen David Adom (MDA) stated: “No emergency calls were received regarding injuries, aside from minor incidents involving people who were hurt while rushing to shelters.”

Improved Early Warning Time for Missiles from Yemen
Israel’s security establishment has been working for weeks to increase the response time for missile attacks originating from Yemen. “From now on,” announced the Home Front Command yesterday, “the Home Front Command app will issue an advance notice of incoming missile fire from Yemen toward Israeli territory—3 to 5 minutes before the formal siren is triggered.”

How It Works: Advance Alert Instructions
The advance notice will appear in the Home Front Command app as a notification sound only (not a full siren), accompanied by an on-screen message such as: “Alerts are expected in your area in the coming minutes.”

Additionally, the IDF Spokesperson will issue a message indicating that missile fire from Yemen is possible in the next few minutes, urging the public to follow official Home Front Command instructions.

What to Do When You Receive an Advance Alert:

  • If you are at home but do not have a safe room (Mamad): Head to a shared shelter if one is within a few minutes’ walk.
  • In a vehicle: Use the extra time to drive to a nearby building for protection.
  • In an unfamiliar area or open space: Seek the nearest accessible structure.
  • If your children are playing outside: Call them inside or direct them to the nearest protected space

Important:
The advance alert does not require immediate sheltering. Its purpose is to give civilians more time and situational awareness to prepare calmly and effectively.

You are only required to enter a shelter when the official alert sounds in your area, based on the response time assigned to your region.

Once in a protected space, remain there for 10 minutes, as instructed by official guidelines.
