Israel Police Capture Key Suspect in Arab Sector Shooting in Overnight Raid

Overnight, dozens of officers from the Negev District’s Ar’ara Station and fighters from the southern district’s elite Yoav Unit raided the town of Kuseifeh, where, according to intelligence information, a suspect involved in a recent shooting was hiding.

Crackdown on Crime in Arab Sector
Upon the suspect’s arrest, dozens of his family members gathered at the scene, attempting to disrupt police activity with verbal abuse, threats, and physical pushing. All involved were detained, and the primary suspects were arrested and transferred for questioning. Southern District police forces completed the operation successfully, exited the village safely, and stated they will continue to take firm action against criminal elements.

In a statement, the Israel Police said:
“District operations will continue with the aim of combating violence and upholding the rule of law—anywhere and at any time.”

Police Efforts Continue Across the Country to Target Criminal Offenders in the Arab Sector
Coastal District officers in Haifa also carried out targeted operations this week against incidents of gunfire, illegal weapons possession, and criminal activity. During one such operation, police located a handgun and magazine in a residential complex in the city. A 23-year-old resident of Haifa was arrested for questioning at the station. The seized items were transferred to Israel Police forensic labs for evidence processing.
