In response to lessons learned from the October 7 attacks, the Tekuma Directorate, established post October 7th to rehabilitate the Gaza Border communities, along with the Ministry of Defense, and Magen David Adom (MDA) are implementing a new initiative to bolster emergency medical services in the region. The project includes 20 bulletproof ambulances funded by the Tekuma Directorate, as well as four new emergency response and dispatch stations. The total cost of these initiatives amounts to 49 million shekels, allocated from the Directorate’s budget.
As part of the project, six bulletproof ambulances have already been deployed to the communities of Kfar Aza, Mefalsim, Sderot, Alumim, Re’im, and Netiv HaAsara. These vehicles are integrated into MDA’s existing infrastructure, while emergency stations in the region have been reinforced and expanded.
