This afternoon, an armed terrorist arrived at the central bus station area in Be’er Sheva. According to reports, the terrorist was equipped with a gun and a knife and operated in three different locations around the station. He opened fire and stabbed passersby, leading to deadly outcomes. As a result of the attack, a young woman was murdered on the spot, and nine other people were injured to varying degrees, from moderate to mild.
Magen David Adom (MDA) teams responded to the incident. MDA Director-General Eli Bin said: “We identified several scenes, with at least three victims in one of them. One was in critical condition, and two others were treated by our teams. It is important to note that at the time of the report, the event was still ongoing.”
Many police forces from the southern district were called to the scene and began immediate security and investigation operations. A police spokesperson stated: “A report was received about a shooting incident at the central bus station in Be’er Sheva. Our forces responded quickly, neutralized the terrorist, and are now conducting extensive searches in the area, fearing the involvement of additional individuals.”
The attack highlights the ongoing security tensions and the need for heightened vigilance. Security forces are urging the public to act responsibly and report any suspicious activities while following security forces’ instructions.
Hospitals in the area have been preparing to receive the injured, and the healthcare system is mobilizing all its resources to treat the victims.
