The Hermon site is set to reopen to visitors this Tuesday after being closed for about a year and a half. The closure began at the start of the war when the area was designated a closed military zone by the Northern Command Chief.
Along with the snowy landscapes and winter atmosphere, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of attractions, including a cable car, extreme sledding, a VR Sky Rider experience, and a snow sledding area for children at the upper level. The Hermon site management clarified that entry is subject to advance ticket reservations, and the operation of attractions depends on weather conditions and visitor capacity limits. Despite the reopening, skiing will not be available this year, and site operators recommend checking real-time updates on the official website regarding attraction availability.

Not Just Snow: How the IDF Prepared Mount Hermon for Visitors
Following the Hermon site management’s announcement of its reopening later this week, the troops of the “Mountain Brigade” (810) have completed operational preparations to welcome visitors, the IDF Spokesperson announced today (Sunday).
The “Mountain Brigade,” operating under the 210th “Bashan” Division, is responsible for security in the northern sector, including Mount Hermon and Har Dov, and conducts operations both in Israeli territory and across the border in enemy territory.

Operational Activity and Civilian Cooperation
Over the past few months, the brigade has conducted continuous situation assessments in collaboration with security and civilian authorities. The goal: maintaining high readiness and addressing ongoing security challenges in the northern region.
According to the IDF, as part of the operational preparations, security conditions have been established that allow visitors from across Israel to enjoy the Hermon site while ensuring their safety and the security of troops stationed in the area.

Ongoing Presence: Securing the Border
Brigade forces remain deployed throughout the northern sector, ensuring the safety of Israeli civilians. The defense establishment emphasizes that alongside civilian activities and leisure at the Hermon site, military and intelligence efforts in the area continue.
