In a major pre-dawn operation on Monday, dozens of police officers, detectives, and special forces raided several compounds in the city of Umm al-Fahm, targeting areas associated with local crime families.

The coordinated raid—aimed at uncovering illegal drugs and weapons—led to the discovery of over 400 grams of a substance suspected to be cocaine. The drugs were hidden in various locations throughout private residences and are believed to have been intended for trafficking and sale. Authorities estimate the stash was worth hundreds of thousands of shekels and could have yielded thousands of individual doses.

The operation is part of an intensified campaign against organized crime in the region, led by Border Police undercover units and the Coastal District Police.

“We Will Dismantle the Crime Families”
A police spokesperson stated:
“Residents of Umm al-Fahm, Kafr Qara, Ar’ara, ‘Ara, Baqa al-Gharbiya, and other Arab towns in the Coastal District deserve to live in safety. We will use all available means to dismantle criminal organizations and their networks to restore peace to the streets.”
