In an emotional ceremony held in New York last night (Thursday to Friday), director Yariv Mozer won the International Emmy Award for Best Documentary in the Current Affairs category, for his film “We Will Dance Again”, which documents the testimonies and experiences of survivors of the Nova festival massacre on October 7.

The win stood out especially against the backdrop of the global media climate, as the film managed to break through to international awareness against all odds.

An Unforgettable Documentation
On stage, alongside members of the production and  the mother of Keshet z”l who was murdered at the festival Natalia Casarotti,, Mozer said: “This film documents the horror—it doesn’t explain it, it doesn’t sugarcoat it, it simply presents what happened. More than anything, we dedicate this award to the return of the hostages.”

The film, which aired in Israel on HOT and in the UK on the BBC, presents through the testimonies of 12 survivors the shock, the fear, the split-second decisions between life and death—and also the willpower to survive. It is no coincidence that the film is titled “We Will Dance Again”: it expresses the aspiration to return to life, without forgetting.

“A Small Measure of Justice Against Immense Injustice”
In a world where attention to the Israeli side in the war on terror cannot be taken for granted, winning the International Emmy Award constitutes further recognition of the importance of giving voice to the stories of Nova, of the young people who were murdered, and of those who survived. Their voices must be heard and remembered.
