The UAE Ambassador to the United States Yousef Al-Otaiba expressed support for President Trump’s plan to relocate Gaza’s population to other countries, describing it as a “difficult – but inevitable” move.
The Trump Plan: Evacuation and Reconstruction
President Trump’s proposal to evacuate Gaza’s population has sent ripples through the diplomatic world, and the Emirati ambassador’s remarks serve as a somewhat surprising endorsement from an influential and unexpected source. As Al-Otaiba expressed that “the move is difficult but inevitable”, he reasoned that he doesn’t see any realistic alternative to the current situation in the Gaza Strip.
The ambassador went on to state that any plan to fully resolve the conflict deserves serious consideration, even its difficult to implement.

Support from the Gulf – A Shift in Attitude?
Trump’s proposed plan includes the gradual evacuation of Gaza’s population to neighboring countries, followed by taking control of the territory, dismantling existing infrastructure, and establishing a new, prosperous entity in its place.
The Emirati ambassador’s supportive statements may indicate a significant shift in the stance of some Gulf states regarding Gaza’s future, particularly in light of regional tensions and several Arab nations’ growing interests in the achievement of a stable geopolitical environment.
While parts of the international community view Trump’s plan as a problematic and unacceptable transfer, Al-Otaiba presents a pragmatic approach, stating that “reality demands unconventional solutions.”
The UAE ambassador’s remarks signal a potential change in regional dynamics, as Arab states reassess their approach to Gaza’s future. With growing diplomatic momentum behind Trump’s plan, the coming weeks could powerfully redefine the future of the Middle East’s political landscape.
