U.S. President Donald Trump addressed progress in the ceasefire talks with Hamas, stating: “We’ll know within the next 24 hours whether Hamas agreed to a ceasefire.”

His remarks come amid an official Hamas statement issued overnight (Thursday to Friday), saying the organization received a new proposal via mediators and is now holding internal consultations with its leadership and other Palestinian factions.

The organization added: “Once consultations are concluded, we will issue a final decision and announce it officially,” without clarifying whether the answer would be positive or negative. Hamas-affiliated Al-Aqsa TV earlier reported that the group had already given a preliminary positive response.

Deal Details
The Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported significant progress in the negotiations. According to the report, the proposal includes a 60-day ceasefire, phased release of hostages, and arrangements for the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza. A Hamas source told the newspaper: “The final details are nearly complete,” adding, “We are at the pre-announcement stage — all indications are positive.”

Is Saudi Arabia Involved?
As reported by Fox News, Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman (KBS) arrived Thursday for a secret visit to Washington, where he met with U.S. President Donald Trump and senior administration officials at the White House. The visit focused on the hostage deal with Hamas and the ceasefire, and also included discussions on regional dynamics with Iran and a potential return to negotiations with the U.S.

Despite the encouraging signs, Israeli political sources assess that no final decision has yet been made. Only a formal and agreed-upon announcement from Hamas will enable progress in the negotiations toward an agreement.
