A ballistic missile launched Tuesday morning from Iran struck a seven-story building in Beersheba, killing four civilians and injuring several others. Simultaneously, sirens sounded in multiple regions across Israel due to additional launches. The attack occurred just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran.

The Home Front Command instructed the public to remain vigilant and continue adhering to safety guidelines, though at certain points during the day, it authorized the public to leave protected spaces.

Escalation Despite Ceasefire
Israeli attacks continued overnight, before the ceasefire came into effect. Reports from Tehran indicated that a senior Iranian nuclear scientist was assassinated in a targeted airstrike. Simultaneously, Iranian sources reported a wave of heavy strikes across different parts of the capital and southern Iran. The IDF confirmed that earlier in the night, the Air Force had struck eight missile launchers in Iran that were ready for immediate use against Israel. These strikes were aimed at disrupting any planned launches ahead of the ceasefire’s implementation.

Around 5:00 a.m., sirens sounded throughout Israel as missiles were launched from Iranian territory. One missile directly hit a residential building in Beersheba, causing multiple casualties. A 15-year-old girl was moderately injured by shrapnel from an interception that fell into her room and was evacuated to a hospital in stable condition. Another four people were killed in the direct hit.

Later that day, Iran fired another missile toward northern Israel. The missile was successfully intercepted by the Israeli Air Force, and no casualties were reported.

“Tehran Will Tremble”
Following the attacks, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich issued a stern warning that “Tehran will tremble.”  Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir announced Israel would respond to the ceasefire violation.

Leadership Response
In response to Iran’s actions, Defense Minister Israel Katz declared that Israel would continue its intensified operations in Tehran, targeting regime infrastructure and terror networks. Katz accused Iran of blatantly violating the ceasefire announced by President Trump and emphasized that, in coordination with the Prime Minister, Israel would escalate its strikes against the regime’s targets in the Iranian capital.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir stated that the military would respond forcefully to the grave breach of the ceasefire by the Iranian regime. A senior Israeli official confirmed that Iran had indeed violated the agreement and would face consequences.

Due to the sensitivity of the situation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a directive prohibiting all cabinet ministers from giving interviews or posting on social media until further notice.

Trump: “A Wonderful Day for the World”
President Trump announced the ceasefire overnight, describing the agreement as “the end of an era.” He added, “I believe that Israel and Iran will never fire at each other again,” calling the moment a turning point for the entire region. The White House noted that the understandings include a bilateral monitoring mechanism and U.S. assistance in reconstruction efforts.

Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke with Trump on Monday afternoon, during which they reached a preliminary agreement on the ceasefire. The Security Cabinet approved the measure during a conference call later that evening.

Achievements of the Campaign
The IDF and Israel’s security establishment highlighted what they termed “unprecedented achievements” in the recent campaign, including the destruction of Iran’s operational nuclear facilities, elimination of two-thirds of its long-range missile arsenal, and precise strikes on dozens of command centers, weapons depots, and Revolutionary Guard infrastructure. Senior figures in Iran’s nuclear and military leadership were also eliminated.

However, the war came at a heavy cost to Israel, with 25 civilians killed. Notable sites hit in Iranian missile attacks included the Weizmann Institute, Bazan petrochemical facilities, and various locations in central Israel. Political officials emphasized that “the powerful blow dealt to Iran is what brought the fighting to an end.”
