Hamas Sets Conditions for Ceasefire Proposal
Hamas has informed mediators that it would agree to release up to five hostages, both living and deceased, in exchange for renewing the ceasefire until after Passover. However, the terror organization demands a prior commitment to negotiations on a permanent ceasefire. Reports indicate that Israel refuses to accept Hamas’ demands as long as hostages remain in captivity and the organization maintains its military capabilities in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israel is advancing the Witkoff framework, which proposes the gradual release of 10 out of the remaining 24 hostages still held by Hamas.
