The IDF Arrest Wanted Hamas Leader in Jenin

During the Israeli Operation in Northern Samaria, Alaa al-Din Bitawi, a Senior Hamas Leader in Jenin, was Arrested along with Other Wanted Suspects After Evading Security Forces.

Last night (Sunday), several wanted Hamas operatives were arrested in a village  near Jenin. These individuals had been on the run for an extended period and were suspected of planning terror attacks against civilians and security forces.

As part of a joint operation involving fighters from the Israel Security Agency (the Shin Bet), the Yamam, Israel’s elite national counter-terrorism unit, and IDF soldiers, security forces managed to capture Alaa al-Din Bitawi, a senior Hamas leader in the Jenin refugee camp. Bitawi was involved in planning attacks alongside other terrorists who were also apprehended.

Weapons and explosives seized
During the arrest, security forces discovered a handgun and several explosive devices, which were destroyed on-site. The captured suspects have been transferred to the Shin Bet for interrogation, while security forces continue their operations in northern Samaria as part of Operation ‘Iron Wall,’ aimed at thwarting terrorism and restoring security to the region.
