Seven people were injured this morning (Tuesday) in a shooting attack at an IDF checkpoint in the Taysir crossing area near Jenin. Two of the wounded are in critical condition. The terrorist was neutralized by security forces present at the scene. Initial investigations indicate that the assailant managed to infiltrate a military zone, attack soldiers, and was subsequently shot and killed by security personnel.
Terrorist Breached Military Compound
The terrorist reportedly managed to enter a military compound where soldiers were stationed. Inside the compound, he opened fire at the troops, leading to several minutes of gunfire exchanges before security forces successfully neutralized him, according to a report by military correspondent, Doron Kadosh.

Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency responder Shai Igner, who arrived at the attack scene, recounted: “I arrived and heard additional gunfire at the site. Once the shooting stopped, I provided initial medical treatment to the wounded, and more teams arrived shortly after.”
The village of Taysir is part of the “Pentagon of Villages,” an area where the IDF has been operating as part of its counterterror mission in northern Samaria in recent days. Taysir is located a few kilometers southeast of Jenin, near the villages of Tamun and Tubas in the Menashe Brigade sector.

The attack occurred in a region where security forces have been conducting counterterror operations as part of Operation “Iron Wall.” So far, dozens of terrorists have been eliminated, and over 100 arrests have been made since the operation began 14 days ago.
The Bislach Brigade Combat Team began operating in the village of Tamun on Saturday night. The unit uncovered weapons, including an M-16 rifle and magazines. The IDF Spokesperson stated: “Security forces continue counterterror operations in northern Samaria while ensuring the safety of Israeli citizens.”
