Israeli Forces Shut Down Smuggling Network Near Ramallah

As part of the effort to prevent the flow of weapons into Judea and Samaria, IDF forces, guided by the ISA (Shin Bet), arrested four key arms dealers near Ramallah. A total of 20 wanted individuals were detained during the holiday across the region.

In a precise security operation, Israeli forces successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle weapons into Judea and Samaria and arrested 20 wanted individuals — including four suspects involved in illegal weapons trading.

Binyamin Sector: Targeted Operation and Arrest of Terror Suspects
Overnight (Monday to Tuesday), as part of a broader effort to thwart terrorism and prevent arms smuggling into Judea and Samaria, IDF forces from the Duvdevan Unit and the Binyamin Regional Brigade operated in the Ramallah area. In a coordinated and timely raid, four major arms dealers were arrested in an operation conducted near their homes.

During the raid, a large quantity of weapons was seized, including a ‘Carlo’-type submachine gun. The suspects were transferred for further interrogation by Israeli security services. In parallel, approximately 20 more wanted individuals were arrested throughout Judea and Samaria during the Shavuot holiday.

Acting Decisively to Protect Civilians
The IDF emphasized that this operation is part of a broader campaign to prevent the buildup of terror capabilities: “Security forces will continue to act to thwart terrorism throughout Judea and Samaria to ensure the safety of residents in the region and the citizens of Israel.”
