As part of a recent joint operation in the Gaza Strip, the IDF and the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) recovered remains linked to the body of fallen hostage Meny Menachem Godard, who was kidnapped and murdered by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad during the October 7, 2023 attacks.

Although the remains have been recovered and identified, Godard’s body is still being held in Gaza. The findings were retrieved from a militant compound in Rafah.

Following forensic analysis conducted by the National Center for Forensic Medicine and the Israel Police, IDF representatives notified the Godard family and are providing ongoing support.

In a joint statement, the IDF and Shin Bet said:

“We continue to make every effort to locate and bring home his body in full.”
