Palestinian media reported this morning (Monday) that 25 people were killed in an IDF strike on a school in the Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, which was reportedly being used as terror infrastructure.

The strike comes as part of Operation “Gideon’s Chariots” in which five IDF divisions have been operating deep inside the Gaza Strip in a large-scale ground maneuver now entering its second week.

Alongside ground combat, the IDF released new footage from the field yesterday. Hamas’s media office claims that the IDF controls 77% of the territory—but avoided addressing the loss of operational command. The footage published by the IDF Spokesperson shows infantry forces entering urban neighborhoods, demolishing buildings used by Hamas, and locating weapons.

IDF Operations in the Gaza Strip – Watch:

“Now is the time to defeat the Khan Younis Brigade”
Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir conducted a field tour in Khan Younis yesterday with commanders of the divisions and combat brigades. “You defeated the Rafah Brigade—now is the time to defeat the Khan Younis Brigade,” he told the soldiers. “We are striking with force to defend ourselves. That is a central lesson from October 7.”
Zamir added that the IDF will employ all necessary means to bring the hostages home and dismantle Hamas’s control.

It was also reported that all regular infantry brigades are currently engaged in the fighting: Golani Brigade is operating in Rafah, the Paratroopers are in central Khan Younis, and the Nahal Brigade has been transferred from the West Bank to Gaza. The Kfir Brigade and Artillery Brigade are also taking an active part in the ground maneuver.

The IDF emphasized that it will continue operating according to a structured plan, aiming to shorten the duration of the fighting and minimize harm to Israeli forces. “This is not an endless war,” said the Chief of Staff. “We seek a decisive outcome—and we will achieve it with determination, precision, and full backing from the political leadership.”
