Gadi Moses, a survivor of Hamas captivity, was discharged today (Thursday) from Ichilov Hospital after completing his post-release medical evaluations. Exactly one week ago, Moses was freed as part of the hostage deal with Hamas. Moses was kidnapped on the morning of October 7 and was one of the oldest hostages taken by Hamas. Upon returning home, he embraced his family and declared his commitment to rebuilding Nir Oz, the kibbutz where he lived before his abduction.

Moses Plans to Return to Farming
In his first moments of freedom, Moses requested one simple thing: a hot espresso. “Like a true kibbutznik,” said his nephew, Shai Moses. Shai shared that Gadi, who has lived his entire life in the Negev, is determined to return to farming and resume his daily routine. “For him, a day without feeling the soil of the Negev is not a real day,” Shai said. He also reflected on the family’s deep concerns for Moses’s physical and mental well-being during his captivity but noted that they never lost hope: “Everyone who knows Gadi knew—if anyone could survive this, it was him.”
