President of Ecuador Daniel Noboa visited the Western Wall Plaza this evening (Sunday) as part of his official diplomatic visit to Israel. He was received by the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, who accompanied the delegation and explained the site’s significance as a spiritual and historical center for the Jewish people.

Pinned to the President’s suit was a “Bring Them Home” hostage pin, symbolizing solidarity with the families of the hostages held in Gaza — a gesture that drew considerable attention from those present.

Strong Support in the Fight Against Terror
During the visit, the President and Rabbi read together from Psalm 121 – “A Song of Ascents: I lift my eyes to the mountains.” President Noboa then offered a silent personal prayer between the stones of the Western Wall, asking for success, peace for his people, and strengthened ties between Israel and Ecuador. At the end of the prayer, he placed a personal note in the holy site.

Following the prayer, a private meeting was held between the President and Rabbi Rabinowitz in the Rabbi’s office. There, President Noboa shared his personal perspective and the challenges his country faces in the fight against terror. He offered unequivocal support for Israel’s right to defend itself, and stated that Ecuador will continue to stand alongside Israel in its just struggle, just as Ecuador itself fights to protect its own citizens.
