Preparing Ben Gurion Airport for Passover as Tourism Returns to Israel

In anticipation of the expected increase in passenger traffic during Passover, the Israel Airports Authority has completed the recruitment of dozens of security and operational staff in various fields over the past month and is in the process of recruiting and training many more employees.

Ahead of the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during Passover, the Israel Airports Authority has recently completed the recruitment of dozens of security and operational staff in various sectors and is currently in the process of recruiting and training additional staff. Among other things, in the past week, training courses have been opened for employees in security roles, including armed security personnel and security inspectors, as well as courses for sorting, baggage handling, aircraft services, equipment manufacturing, and personnel in the intelligence department within the passenger service division. Additional courses in various fields are scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.

Female Officers to Secure the Airport
In addition, the Israel Airports Authority is in the midst of a recruitment process for female security personnel for the MAGEN unit, which is responsible for the armed security array throughout Ben Gurion Airport, including patrols in 4×4 vehicles across all areas of the airport and along the perimeter fences, securing the entrance gates to Ben Gurion Airport, armed security outside the terminals, and more. The recruitment is aimed at female soldiers who have served for at least two years in combat units, including infantry, armored corps, artillery, engineering and intelligence gathering units.
