An explosive device from the October 7 terror attack was found today (Monday) near Kibbutz Alumim and was safely neutralized without casualties.

Iranian-made charge
During a search operation conducted by Netivot police, officers discovered the device near the entrance to Kibbutz Alumim. A police sapper determined that it was Iranian-made, the same type used by Hamas terrorists during the October 7 massacre.

The device was likely left behind during intense fighting in the area, where Israel Police forces engaged Hamas operatives and helped stop their advance into local communities—contributing to the saving of many lives.

Police sappers from the Southern District arrived at the scene and successfully neutralized the device, with no injuries or damage.

Suspicious bag containing explosive device also found two weeks ago
About two weeks ago, Netivot police officers in the Negev District found a suspicious bag in an open area near the entrance to the city. The bag was marked with Arabic writing, and inside was an explosive device.

An initial inspection by a police sapper suggested that the equipment may have been left behind by terrorists who attempted to infiltrate Netivot during the October 7 terror attack but encountered police and municipal security forces who were defending the city.
