The arrest was carried out Monday by officers from the Jerusalem District Police. Authorities say the suspect, a fourth-year biomedical engineering student at an Israeli university, is being investigated on suspicion of incitement to terror.
According to police, just four days after the October 7 massacre, the individual allegedly published images from a pamphlet glorifying Hamas on one of his personal social media accounts. One caption read: “The breaching of the barrier by Hamas is a historic achievement,” accompanied by an image of a bulldozer breaking through Israel’s border fence.
Content Praised Hamas Attacks

Police say the pamphlet explicitly expressed support for Hamas and its actions. The materials featured imagery and language that constituted incitement, support, and identification with a terrorist organization.

Following monitoring and review of the content, law enforcement officers arrested the suspect at his home in the Jabel Mukaber neighborhood. He is in his twenties and is expected to appear in court as police seek to extend his detention.
Official Response: No Tolerance for Terror Support
In a statement, Israeli police said: “The Israel Police will not tolerate expressions of joy, identification, or support for the Hamas terror organization. We will act using all means available to maintain public safety and order, including monitoring and neutralizing online incitement and terror-supporting activity.”
