The walls of the Old City, the Chords Bridge, and additional buildings throughout Jerusalem were illuminated this evening (Tuesday) in blue and white in honor of Israel’s Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers and Victims of Terror.
Names of the fallen and flickering memorial candles were projected onto the ancient stone walls. The Chords Bridge was lit with the Israeli flag alongside the word “Yizkor” (“Remember”), and several other landmarks across the city were illuminated as a symbol of national mourning and lasting remembrance.

“Every stone in this city carries a story of heroism”
Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion said:
“On this evening, as Jerusalem is bathed in the light of remembrance, we all stand together with the bereaved families. Jerusalem pauses, bows its head, and lovingly embraces all those who have lost what is most dear to them. Every stone in this city carries a story of heroism, sacrifice, and rebirth.”

“We pledge to remember, to forget no one, and to carry the legacy of the fallen in our hearts—to live here together, to build, to believe, and to safeguard the home that is so dear to us all.
On behalf of all the residents of Jerusalem, I send a warm embrace to the bereaved families and promise—you will never be alone. The entire city stands with you, remembers, grieves, and honors.
May the memory of the fallen be blessed forever,” he added.
