In recent days, the IDF’s Jerusalem Brigade (16th) completed its mission in the northern Gaza Strip after two months of intense fighting. In a broad and targeted operation, the forces operated in the Shuja’iyya and Daraj-Tuffah areas of northern Gaza, working to dismantle Hamas’s terror infrastructure.
Operating with determination and precision, the brigade eliminated many terrorists and destroyed over 600 terror targets. The troops worked closely with Yahalom special engineering units, who uncovered and neutralized hundreds of meters of underground routes where weapons and advanced military equipment were hidden.

The brigade, along with special engineering forces, dismantled underground passages that were meant to be used by terrorists to launch attacks against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians. Deep inside the tunnels, soldiers found various types of weapons, ready-to-use explosives, and military communications systems.

Reserve Forces Continue the Mission
With the mission in northern Gaza complete, the brigade’s troops have been replaced by reserve forces who will continue operations in the area. The IDF remains active in its efforts against terror organizations in the region, with the goal of maintaining calm and preventing further attacks on southern Israeli communities.
The commander of the Jerusalem Brigade (16th), Lt. Col. N., emphasized the importance of the operation and its achievements during the fighting:
“The brigade demonstrated resilience, professionalism, and determination in dismantling Hamas’s terror infrastructure. This targeted action dealt a serious blow to the terror network in northern Gaza.”
