Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed today (Thursday) that the Israeli Air Force carried out a strike on the Islamic Jihad headquarters in Damascus, as part of an operation aimed at thwarting terrorist activity against Israel.

“There Will Be No Immunity for Islamist Terror in Syria”
“Wherever terrorist activity against Israel is planned, the leader of radical Islam, Jolani, will find Israeli Air Force jets circling above and striking terror targets,” Katz declared.

The minister emphasized that there will be no immunity for Islamist terror in Syria or anywhere else and that Israel will not allow Syria to become a terror base threatening the country’s security.

Eliminating Terrorist Infrastructure
The air force strike is part of Israel’s ongoing fight against terrorist entrenchment in Syria, particularly efforts by Hamas and Islamic Jihad to exploit the rule of Abu Mohammad al-Julani to establish attack infrastructure along the northern border.

Israel demands the complete demilitarization of the area south of Damascus while continuing operations to neutralize terrorist threats before they materialize.
