CBS released a comprehensive poll today (Sunday), evaluating the American public’s satisfaction with President Trump since the start of his term. The poll focused on various topics, including economic policies, domestic affairs, and international issues such as the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The results indicate a general trend of support, with most respondents expressing satisfaction with Trump’s performance, particularly regarding his handling of Middle Eastern affairs. The poll was conducted with a nationally representative sample of 2,175 adults across the US, interviewed between February 5–7 2025.

54% of Americans Support Trump’s Crisis Management
According to the poll, 54% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict, while 46% oppose his approach. Support is strongest among Republican voters, who view Trump as a determined, efficient, and focused leader. These traits have steadily characterized Trump since his election campaign, with the majority of the public believing he follows through on his promises, even if not everyone agrees with his policies.

Trump’s Proposal for Gaza Control
Trump’s suggestion of a possible takeover of Gaza and negotiations on the matter have drawn significant attention. While most Americans are aware of the proposal, few believe it is a viable solution. According to the poll, many respondents believe the real goal is to create diplomatic leverage rather than direct military action.

47% of respondents view the proposal negatively, 40% are uncertain or believe it depends on the circumstances, and only 13% support it completely, considering it a positive idea

Concerns Over U.S. Inflation
A decisively higher concern than Middle East policy for Americans in the current inflation. Most believe the administration is not paying enough attention to rising prices, a factor that played a key role in Trump’s election victory. Nearly 75% of respondents believe that increased tariffs on imports may cause prices to rise even further.

Immigration Policy and Border Security
Trump enjoys broad support when it comes to approach to immigration and border enforcement. Many approve of deploying military forces to the border and implementing deportation policies, seeing them as fulfilling his campaign promises. Such strong support for these policies aligns closely with the expectations of his voter base since his initial campaign.

As Trump’s policies continue to shape public opinion, his strong stance on Gaza and border security garners significant support. With economic concerns still at the forefront, Americans remain divided on the best path forward.
