As part of an official diplomatic visit to Malawi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sharren Haskel signed a framework agreement aimed at bringing Malawian workers to Israel. The agreement is part of Israel’s broader efforts to deepen its ties with African countries and expand partnerships with its allies across the continent.
The agreement will regulate the employment of Malawian workers in the caregiving and agriculture fields, ensuring a well-structured, responsible, and fair process that benefits both countries.

Mutual Benefit and Shared Values
Deputy Minister Haskel emphasized that this is another step in building a stable and meaningful relationship with a true ally: “Malawi is a genuine friend of Israel. Since the war began, it has stood firmly by our side—even opening an embassy in Jerusalem during the fighting. This agreement will not only enhance services in Israel, but also express the strong relationship and mutual respect between our nations.”
