Four years after leaving Washington, Donald Trump returned this evening (Monday) to the Capitol Building, sworn in as the 47th President of the United States. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is reportedly set to meet with Trump soon, sent his congratulations and wished him well.
“Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital”
“Congratulations, President Trump,” Netanyahu began. “Sara and I send our warmest regards to you, Melania, and the American people on the occasion of your second inauguration as President of the United States.”
Netanyahu highlighted Trump’s first term as being “filled with groundbreaking moments” in the history of the U.S.-Israel alliance. He listed several key achievements: “Withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, the relocation of the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, the recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights”. Netanyahu also mentioned the Abraham Accords, through which Israel established peace agreements with four Arab nations.

“To the Destruction of Hamas’ Military Capabilities”
In conclusion, Netanyahu stated: “On behalf of the people of Israel, I want to thank you for your efforts in helping to release the Israeli hostages.
