According to the Al-Jadeed report, the Lebanese Army conducted searches in the Al-Mrayjeh area of Beirut’s Dahiyeh district for weapons or military equipment, fearing that the area might come under Israeli attack. The site has reportedly already been targeted by Israeli strikes in the past.
IDF Strikes
As previously reported, on Thursday the IDF carried out a precise strike on drone production infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah. The facilities were located within the densely populated neighborhoods of Dahiyeh — the terror group’s central stronghold in Beirut.
These were underground sites designated for the mass production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), in clear violation of understandings between Israel and Lebanon and presenting an immediate threat.

The decision to strike was made after the IDF identified ongoing activity by Hezbollah’s Unit 127 — the organization’s aerial unit, which operates with funding and direction from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

Report: “Israel Refused Lebanese Army’s Request”
Just moments before the strikes in Dahiyeh, the Lebanese Army reportedly entered buildings that the IDF had previously warned about — apparently in an attempt to search for Hezbollah UAV production facilities. A short time later, Lebanese forces withdrew from the area.
According to a Lebanese security source quoted by Al Jazeera, Israel rejected Lebanon’s request to complete the searches and insisted on proceeding with the airstrike.
“Part of an Ongoing Escalation in the Region”
About a week earlier, the IDF carried out another strike using an aircraft, eliminating a Hezbollah terrorist affiliated with the organization’s anti-tank unit in the Arnoun area of southern Lebanon. The operative had been involved in planned terrorist activity targeting IDF forces and northern Israeli communities — part of a broader escalation in the region during the previous week.
The strike was part of a focused effort by Israel’s defense establishment to neutralize immediate threats and damage Hezbollah’s operational infrastructure near the border, using accurate intelligence and aerial capabilities. The IDF reported that the strike was a direct hit and that no additional casualties were reported.
