The military court on Tuesday sentenced Mohammed and Sarker Shantir, the two terrorists who carried out the deadly shooting attack near Beit Hagai in August 2023, in which Bat-Sheva Nagari was murdered in front of her young daughter. Another passenger in the car was seriously injured.
According to the verdict, the two were sentenced to life imprisonment plus an additional 50 years in prison, and were ordered to pay 3.4 million shekels in compensation to the victims of the attack.
Fired Approximately 28 Bullets at the Vehicle
The indictment stated that the two planned the attack in advance, made contact with Hamas operatives to fund the purchase of weapons, and arrived at the scene armed. They fired around 28 bullets at an Israeli vehicle carrying Nagari, her daughter, and another passenger. Nagari was killed on the spot.

The court emphasized in its ruling the ideological and nationalist severity of the act, as well as the direct assault on the sanctity of life. The judges fully accepted the military prosecution’s position, noting the need for a clear and deterrent sentence.
