Israel’s Memorial Day events for fallen soldiers and victims of hostile acts began this evening (Tuesday) with the official state ceremony at the Western Wall Plaza in Jerusalem.
The ceremony began immediately after the one-minute siren that sounded across the country at 20:00.
Following the ceremony, the “Songs in Their Memory” event was held—commemorating Israel’s fallen, in collaboration with the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi) and the Knesset, in the Chagall Lounge of the Knesset.

The Event
Since 2010, the “Songs in Their Memory” event has been held annually on the eve of Yom HaZikaron. The event takes place in the evening at the Knesset Plaza, in the presence of the Speaker of the Knesset, the Minister of Defense, and other dignitaries.
Its core is a series of musical performances by prominent Israeli singers, IDF musical ensembles, and other groups, performing songs of remembrance and reflection.
Between the songs, stories of fallen soldiers are shared with the audience.
The event is organized under the auspices of the Knesset, the Ministry of Defense, the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi), and the Israel Defense Forces, and is attended by invited members of bereaved families.
