The Saudi news channel Al-Hadath reported today (Friday) that Hamas has received the proposal passed on by mediator Steve Witkoff and is now reviewing it. At the same time, a senior Hamas figure told Al Arabiya that the proposed framework “does not meet any of the organization’s demands,” but emphasized that Hamas is still considering it.
Main Points of the Agreement
Yesterday, Al Arabiya published the American proposal delivered to Hamas. The document outlines an agreed framework for a 60-day ceasefire, the release of 10 live hostages and 18 bodies in two phases, and a redeployment of forces according to prior understandings. The proposal also includes the delivery of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip via the United Nations and the Red Crescent, as well as a daily pause in Israeli military operations lasting several hours.

In return, Israel would release 125 terrorists with blood on their hands who were sentenced to life in prison, along with 1,111 additional terrorists captured during the current fighting. The deal would also involve the transfer of 180 bodies of terrorists. The United States, Egypt, and Qatar would serve as guarantors of the agreement, and U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to personally announce the beginning of the deal and monitor its implementation.

A key element of the proposal concerns the day after: the launch of intensive negotiations for a permanent arrangement, including the release of the remaining hostages, security agreements, the deployment of regional forces, and an official declaration ending the war. If significant progress is made, the ceasefire could be extended beyond the initial 60-day period.
While Talks Continue, the IDF Presses On
As mediation efforts continue toward a deal for the hostages’ release, the IDF is maintaining full operational momentum in the Gaza Strip. In recent days, dozens of terrorists have been eliminated.
The Kfir Brigade’s combat team, operating under the 36th Division, has been active in the Khan Younis area in recent days as part of Operation Gideon’s Chariots. The forces eliminated dozens of terrorists, destroyed explosive devices and booby-trapped structures, and uncovered weapons used by the terror groups in the Strip.
