Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a strong warning Thursday to Syria’s leadership following a series of Israeli military operations in southern Syria and airstrikes on Syrian military airports. Speaking at a pre-Passover ceremony with Defense Ministry staff, Katz stated:

“I warn Syrian leader Julani: If you allow forces hostile to Israel to enter Syria and threaten Israeli security interests — you will pay a very heavy price. The Israel Air Force’s actions serve as a warning for the future — we will not allow harm to the security of the State of Israel.”

Katz emphasized that Israel will not tolerate Syria becoming a staging ground for attacks against its northern communities or strategic interests:

“IDF forces will continue to operate from Mount Hermon and across designated security zones to protect the residents of the Golan Heights and Galilee. Just as we did yesterday, targeting terrorists who posed a threat to our forces.”

He confirmed that the Israeli Air Force struck Syrian military infrastructure at the T4 and Hama airbases as part of ongoing efforts to deter threats emerging from the Syrian front.
