An IDF airstrike overnight (Monday to Tuesday) targeted a Hamas command-and-control center operating from within Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. According to the IDF, the facility housed senior Hamas operatives who had planned and executed attacks on Israeli forces and civilians. The targeted operation was based on precise intelligence, aerial surveillance, and the use of precision-guided munitions, with measures taken to strike terror targets while minimizing harm to the surrounding hospital infrastructure.

The targeted site had previously been used by Ismail Barhoum, who succeeded Hamas’s Gaza Prime Minister and held the finance and institutions portfolio in the organization’s political bureau. Barhoum was killed in an Israeli airstrike in March. Despite his death, Hamas continued to exploit medical facilities for operational purposes.

The IDF and Shin Bet emphasized that operations will continue, even against sensitive sites, when Hamas uses them cynically for terror activity, endangering civilian lives: “Once again, Hamas’s cruelty is exposed through its use of civilian infrastructure to conceal its operations,” the IDF said in a statement.
“We will continue to act with precision and intelligence to eliminate terrorist threats.”
