Guy Lerer, journalist and host of the program HaTzinor (“The Pipeline”) on Channel 13, has been awarded the Social Leadership Award by the Israeli Leadership Forum (ILF). Lerer received the honor for a series of innovative and trailblazing social initiatives—many of them beyond the television screen—that have turned HaTzinor into more than a TV show: a powerful platform for social change in Israel.

Raised nearly 20 million shekels for the Gaza envelope
The award recognized Lerer’s activity over the past decade, with special emphasis on the projects he initiated since the start of the October 7 war. These include the Tzinor Fund, which raised approximately 20 million shekels and provided direct aid to Gaza-border residents via rechargeable debit cards, and the Otfim BaMiluim (“Supporting in Reserves”) initiative, which offers assistance to families of IDF reservists.

Also mentioned were well-known projects such as Sayeret HaKherem (“Boycott Patrol”), which fights bullying in schools, and “Tzinor Super”, a social supermarket that serves tens of thousands of families each month. The award was presented by Gilad Adin, former CEO of Channel 10 News and the person who first introduced Lerer to television. Adin, now a member of the ILF, called the moment a touching full-circle.

The ILF is a leading forum uniting business, social, and public leaders who aim to bring about meaningful change in Israel’s leadership culture.
