With the conclusion of Passover, Israir received official approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to operate commercial flights to the United States—marking a significant milestone in the airline’s strategic expansion plan.

An Israeli experience—now above New York
The approval allows Israir to proceed with the regulatory process required to obtain final authorizations from the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and the TSA (Transportation Security Administration). According to projections, a permanent license is expected by June 2025.

Israir plans to operate the Tel Aviv–New York route using Airbus A330 aircraft, crewed by Israeli staff. The airline emphasizes its commitment to offering an authentic Israeli flying experience. According to the company, this marks a significant leap forward, enabling it to compete internationally by upholding values of service, efficiency, and cultural connection with Israeli travelers.
