A public warning was issued this evening (Thursday) to residents of specific neighborhoods in southern Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. According to the statement released in Arabic by the IDF Spokesperson, the message is directed at civilians living in the city’s southern suburbs, with a particular focus on areas known to host Hezbollah operatives.

The areas explicitly mentioned were: Hadath, Haret Hreik, and Bourj el-Barajneh—three neighborhoods that form part of Hezbollah’s core stronghold in the city. Residents in these areas were urged to immediately evacuate any buildings marked in red on the maps attached to the warning, as well as nearby structures.

Statement from the IDF Spokesperson in Arabic:

Part of an Ongoing Escalation in the Sector
Earlier this week, the IDF carried out an airstrike targeting a terrorist affiliated with Hezbollah’s anti-tank unit in the Arnon area of southern Lebanon. The operative who was eliminated had been involved in terror activity aimed at IDF forces and communities in northern Israel, as part of a broader escalation along the border in the preceding week.

The strike was part of a focused effort by the Israeli defense establishment to thwart immediate threats and strike operational Hezbollah infrastructure near the border, using precise intelligence and aerial capabilities. The IDF reported a direct hit, with no additional casualties reported.
