In recent days, IDF forces have been determinedly operating in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon, focusing on destroying terrorist infrastructure, seizing weapons, and carrying out targeted strikes against Hamas and Hezbollah operatives.

The Campaign Against Hamas
After months of combat in northern Israel, soldiers from the Golani Brigade have returned to the Gaza Strip—this time to its southern region. Over the past week, the brigade’s combat team, under the command of the 36th Division, has been active in the Rafah area. Their main objective is to locate and dismantle any remaining terror infrastructure in the region.

Tanks, Airstrikes, and Urban Combat
During the operation, forces uncovered buildings used by terrorists for observation and launching attacks. They also eliminated several terrorists active in the area and seized various weapons.

Operational Plans for Continued Fighting Approved
Yesterday (Tuesday), IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir conducted a situational assessment and field tour in the Morag Corridor area of the Gaza Strip, where the Golani Brigade and the 188th Armored Brigade are operating. He was joined by Southern Command Commander Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor, 36th Division Commander Brig. Gen. Moran Omer, and other senior officers. Zamir spoke with commanders and soldiers from the 36th Division and approved the operational plans for the next phase of the campaign.

Exerting Significant Pressure
During his conversation with the soldiers, the Chief of Staff said:
“You, the forces of the 36th Division, have returned to fight in the Gaza Strip in a location—the Morag Corridor—where IDF troops are operating for the first time. This operation surprised the enemy, led to the elimination of dozens of terrorists, and resulted in the discovery of large quantities of weapons. You are exerting significant pressure. I expect you to decisively defeat the Rafah Brigade and to bring victory wherever you fight.”

Our Mission Is Clear and Principled
Zamir also referred to the upcoming Passover holiday, saying:
“As we approach Passover, the festival of freedom, our mission here is clear and principled: to bring all our hostages home, to achieve victory, and to deliver a decisive blow to Hamas.”

He expressed his deep appreciation for the commanders and fighters of the 36th Division and Southern Command, who have been engaged in prolonged combat and have achieved significant victories in Gaza and along the northern border.

Air Force Strikes Hezbollah Weapons Depot in Lebanon
At the same time, the IDF is continuing to strike threats in the north. Following an airstrike earlier this week in the Sidon area that killed Hassan Farhat—the commander of Hamas’s western sector in Lebanon—another Israeli airstrike was reported yesterday in the village of Tibnin, located north of the Litani River and about 8 kilometers from Metula.

Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck a weapons depot belonging to Hezbollah’s air defense unit in the Beqaa Valley, deep inside Lebanon. The presence of these weapons posed a direct threat to Israel and represented a clear violation of the understandings between the two countries.

IDF Presence in Syria
IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee released a video yesterday from his first visit to southern Syria.
“We have no intention of interfering in Syria’s internal affairs, but we will not tolerate any threat to Israel’s security and will respond forcefully and immediately. We will not allow the presence of terrorist elements, armed groups, or extremists in this area,” he said in the video, which was posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account.

According to Adraee, the presence of IDF forces in the area improves Israel’s ability to respond quickly to any security developments that may arise from the ongoing instability in Syria.
