The IDF is continuing its operations in Syria to protect the communities of the Golan Heights and the surrounding Druze villages. The IDF Spokesperson reported today (Sunday) that troops from the 210th (Bashan) Division are fully deployed in the area and remain on high alert, prepared for a range of scenarios based on ongoing threat assessments.
According to the statement, the division is positioned to prevent the infiltration of hostile forces into the region and to provide support to the Syrian-Druze population. These efforts are being carried out in close coordination with intelligence agencies and operational units.

Addressing Threats and Securing the Druze Villages
The IDF notes that the security situation in Syria is rapidly evolving. To ensure the safety of local residents, the 210th Division has established a strong defensive presence in the field. Alongside its defensive mission, the division is also delivering humanitarian assistance to Druze villages in the region, which have been placed in a vulnerable position as a result of ongoing fighting in Syria.
Operation to Recover the Body of Staff Sergeant Tzvi Feldman
Alongside operations in Syria, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced this morning (Sunday) the successful completion of a joint Mossad-IDF mission to recover the remains of Staff Sergeant Tzvi (Zvika) Feldman, an Armored Corps soldier who fell in the Battle of Sultan Yacoub during the First Lebanon War in June 1982.
Prime Minister Netanyahu stated:
“For many years, I authorized numerous covert operations to locate the missing soldiers from Sultan Yacoub. The dear parents, Pnina and Avraham, never stopped pursuing this cause, though sadly they have since passed away. Today, we bring our beloved Zvika back to the Land of Israel, which he loved so dearly.”
