“We have had a very difficult week,” Sa’ar began the press conference. “A father, Yarden Bibas, buried his wife and two children. This immense tragedy, which the world has now witnessed, is yet another proof of the unimaginable cruelty of our enemy.”

He continued: “We are committed to securing the release of all the hostages and will continue to explore different avenues to achieve this. Our delegation will travel to Cairo to assess whether there is common ground for extending the framework in exchange for the return of more hostages.”

Strengthening Israel-Czech Relations
During their meeting, the two ministers also discussed the situation in the Middle East and ways to strengthen bilateral relations. “I had a very productive meeting with the Czech Foreign Minister. We have a long history of deep friendship between our nations, which has stood the test of time. Even in this war, the Czech Republic has stood by Israel during its most difficult hours. Foreign Minister Lipavský, you were the first foreign minister to visit Israel after October 7. The Czech Republic has supported us on the international stage and in global forums.”

Czech Foreign Minister Lipavský responded: “I came to Israel from Brussels, where I attended the important EU-Israel Association meeting. Your leadership in that meeting was remarkable. We have worked hard to renew the association agreement, and we are deeply committed to it, recognizing its great importance.”
