The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Friday morning that Israeli Air Force jets and helicopters will conduct training flights over Jerusalem in the coming days, ahead of the central aerial flyover planned for Israel’s Memorial Day.

Intensive Aerial Activity Expected Over the Capital
According to the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the training exercises will take place during daylight hours and will involve increased aerial activity across the Jerusalem area, including low-flying fighter jets and helicopters. The rehearsals are intended to ensure the accuracy and safety of the official Memorial Day flyover.

The IDF emphasized that these are routine pre-scheduled drills and not related to any security incident. However, due to the high visibility of aircraft in the skies, some public concern or confusion may arise.

Drone Ban in Sensitive Areas
As a precaution, the public is strongly advised not to operate drones in sensitive areas of the city during the flights. Restricted zones include Mount Herzl, the Pilots’ Memorial, and the President’s Residence.

The ban is in place for flight safety and operational integrity, and the IDF has called on the public to comply fully with these guidelines to ensure the success of the upcoming national events.
