Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar issued an unusually sharp and decisive statement to foreign media this morning (Monday), in response to the proceedings taking place at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. Israel, which has announced that it will boycott the process, accuses the UN and its agency UNRWA, of direct involvement in terrorism and of undermining Israel’s basic right to self-defense.
“Israel Will Not Cooperate With This Circus”
Sa’ar began his remarks in a firm tone: “Israel will not cooperate with this circus. This is yet another attempt to politically abuse a legal process in order to persecute the State of Israel and deny its fundamental right to defend itself.”
He emphasized that it is not Israel that should be on trial, but the UN and UNRWA themselves, following the revelation of clear evidence showing UNRWA employees’ involvement in the October 7 massacre. Sa’ar directly accused UN Secretary-General António Guterres of “covering up the crimes,” and declared: “The UN has betrayed its original mission. It has shifted from being a body aimed at promoting peace and justice to a tool for undermining world order and carrying out an antisemitic persecution of Israel.”

Systematic Persecution and Serious Allegations
Sa’ar described the international legal system as a political instrument in the hands of Israel’s enemies, highlighting that Israel now faces a “fourth proceeding” at the court since October 7, all while enduring “double standards and outrageous, baseless arrest warrants” against its leaders.
“No other country has been brought before the court as many times as Israel, and no other country suffers from such blatant double standards,” said Sa’ar. “This is a cynical attempt to strip Israel of its basic rights.”

UNRWA – An arfm of Hamas
Sa’ar stressed that UNRWA, under the auspices of the UN, has effectively become an operational arm of Hamas: “UNRWA employed over 1,400 terrorists, many of whom actively participated in the massacre of Israeli civilians.”
He stated that documented evidence has proven that UNRWA employees took part directly in the atrocities, and even presented a specific case of a Hamas terrorist, employed by the agency, who participated in the kidnapping of Israeli civilians.
In concluding his remarks, Sa’ar declared: “I accuse UNRWA. I accuse the UN. I accuse the UN Secretary-General. I accuse all those who abuse international law to deny Israel the right to defend itself.”
He ended with a strong statement: “Israel will not be part of this circus. We will not allow the truth to be buried – the world must hear and know the real story.”
