Speaking to the Persian-language online channel Hozour overnight, Iranian Vice President Mohammad Zarif claimed that due to international sanctions, Iran has been forced to rely on intermediaries for procuring equipment, exposing it to sabotage attempts. He revealed that explosive materials were found in centrifuge technology Iran had purchased, but declined to specify when the incident occurred.
Sanctions Force Iran to Take Risks
The tensions between Iran and Israel over Iran’s nuclear program have taken a new turn with Zarif’s direct accusation of Israeli sabotage targeting centrifuge technology. Zarif stressed that international sanctions pushed Iran to use intermediaries, making it vulnerable to such threats.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pazhakhian told NBC News that Iran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. However, he warned that Iran is fully prepared to counter any attacks, whether from Israel or the United States.

Additional reports indicate that Iran’s research centers for bomb-making technology, including the Sanjaryan site east of Tehran, have ramped up their activity in the past year. Iranian opposition sources claim experts have been observed at these sites despite Tehran’s denials of renewed operations.
