A powerful testimony from captivity will be heard today (Friday) at the United Nations in Vienna, as Tal Shoham—an Austrian citizen and one of the hostages freed in the recent round of releases—speaks publicly at an official event hosted by the UN institutions in the city.
Around 100 foreign ambassadors and diplomats
Shoham, who was held by Hamas for 50 days together with his wife and children—Adi, Neveh, and Yahel—will address an audience of approximately 100 ambassadors and foreign diplomats, alongside senior officials from various UN agencies. The event is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Israel time and will be broadcast live on the Twitter channel of Israel’s mission to the UN institutions in Vienna.
The event is an initiative of the Israeli Embassy in Austria and Israel’s permanent mission to the UN agencies in Vienna. Joining Shoham is a delegation of three families of Israeli hostages and freed captives. Among the participants are the families of Guy Gilboa Dalal and David Evyatar, Shoham’s childhood friends, who were also abducted by Hamas on what became known as “Black Saturday.”
The UN center in Vienna is considered the third largest in the world, providing a highly significant platform for the voices of returned hostages to be heard by the international community.
