During the Purim celebrations in schools yesterday (Wednesday), many students across the country chose to dress up as Batman, the beloved superhero of Ariel Bibas, who was kidnapped from his home on October 7 and murdered in Gaza. In this touching initiative, the students aimed to express their solidarity with the pain of the bereaved families and honor the memory of Ariel and all the other victims and fallen in the war.

Ariel’s father, Jordan Bibas, who returned from captivity, expressed deep emotion over the tribute. In a post he shared on social media, he included pictures of his sons in costume as well as the students and wrote: “We love you the most in the world, always in the world.”

A Symbol of Unity and Hope for the People of Israel
Later, the mourning father posted again: “My heart skipped a beat twice today, once when we woke up to a morning without new pictures of Ariel and Kfir in costumes, and a second time when we saw all the amazing tributes in the streets of Israel,” he wrote.
“Again and again for almost a year and a half, especially in recent weeks, you are showing us that Ariel and Kfir will never leave us. They are in the heart of the nation and will always remain. Those who were a symbol of Hamas’s cruelty are now a symbol of unity and hope for the People of Israel,” he added.
“As much as we were moved to see the costumes, we were likewise touched to see you at the funeral, during the mourning period, and when we saw you calling for the continued return of the remaining hostages in captivity. Thank you, our dear People of Israel,” he concluded.
